FAQ

Questions about
RelicPack.

Availability, sharing and the details behind the features.

Getting started

01Can I use RelicPack yet?

RelicPack is in development. The public beta will be available through TestFlight for iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 26 or later, and Mac with macOS 26 or later. Sign up at the bottom of this page for the beta announcement and occasional release news.

02What is free, and what needs Premium?

Planning, unlimited trips, iCloud sync, saved directions and all exports are free. Premium adds starting shared trips, attaching documents to your own trips, saving videos and posts as cards with thumbnails, and Google place search without an API key of your own. It is a one-time purchase, planned at US$7.99, with Family Sharing included. The App Store will show your local price. Sync, sharing and Google place search are still being tested.

03Does my partner need to pay?

No. Only the person starting a shared trip needs Premium. An invited partner can edit that trip and add attachments for free. They would need Premium to start their own shared trips, attach documents to their own trips, save videos and posts as cards, or use Google place search without a key of their own.

04What happens to my data if Premium ends?

If a purchase is refunded or your Family Sharing access changes, nothing you have already saved is removed.

Planning and sharing

01How does editing a trip together work?

When you share a trip, Apple sends your partner a private iCloud link by Messages, Mail or a link you copy. You both need an Apple Account and edit the trip on your own devices. Joining is free and turns on iCloud sync, and the trip’s files count against the owner’s iCloud storage. Everything in the trip is the same for both of you, including its travel log. Offline changes sync when you reconnect, changes to different fields of the same booking are kept, and Recent Updates shows what changed since you last looked. Sync and sharing are built but still being tested, so they are not available in every build.

02Does RelicPack look up flight schedules?

No. It fills in the airline from a flight number and lets you search 7,916 airports offline. Choosing airports sets the departure and arrival time zones. Paste a booking confirmation to fill in its flights, or enter the flight duration to estimate the arrival, then check it against your booking. Both happen on your device. RelicPack does not provide live flight status.

03What can I import into the Inbox?

On iPhone and iPad, use Add to RelicPack in the share sheet to send several links at once, or one PDF, image or piece of text. On Mac, paste or drag into the Inbox, choose Save to RelicPack Inbox from the Services menu in another app, or capture the clipboard from the menu bar. Shortcuts can save to the Inbox too. RelicPack finds dates, addresses and flight numbers in text on your device, reads the text in photos, screenshots and scanned PDFs for you to review, and can translate an item in another language on your device. Whole trips can also come in from a spreadsheet (CSV), a calendar file, a conference schedule or events you pick from Apple Calendar. Email files are not supported.

04Can one trip cover several places?

Yes. Split a trip into legs, such as Tokyo, Hakone and Kyoto, each with its own place and optional dates. The map of your trips shows a numbered pin for each leg, and legs sync, export and can be published to Calendar as all-day events.

05Does it work with widgets, Siri and Shortcuts?

Yes. The Today, Next Up and Timeline widgets show what’s coming on iPhone, iPad and Mac, and Next Up can sit on the Lock Screen. Siri and Shortcuts can tell you what’s next or a day’s plan, open a trip, add items, log entries and checklists, and save to the Inbox. You can also show your trips in Spotlight.

06Can I send my itinerary to someone without RelicPack?

Yes. Send itinerary creates plain text you can message or email. It includes places and times by default. You can add booking references, phone numbers and links, who you’re with, costs, notes and checklists. Your travel log is never included.

07Does it split bills or convert currencies?

No. You can record booking costs and who paid, and see a separate total for each currency, with who paid what. For example, a trip might total €1,840 and £310. Export the costs as a spreadsheet if you need to do further calculations.

08Will my calendar update when I change a trip?

It can. Choose a calendar in a trip’s settings, or one for new trips in Settings, and RelicPack publishes that trip’s bookings there: on a Mac after every change, and on iPhone and iPad when you sync. Publish from one device only. If you change or delete one of its events in Calendar, RelicPack flags it and you choose whether to update the trip or put its version back. Travel log entries are never published, and item notes and trip legs only if you choose. Add to calendar still exports a one-off calendar file (.ics) instead. Calendar publishing is new and still being tested.

Privacy and your data

01Does the app track me?

No. The app has no analytics or advertising, does not ask for your location and does not require a RelicPack account. Optional iCloud sync uses your Apple Account. Place searches, directions and maps use Apple Maps, and saving a web link fetches that page’s title and preview image. Google place search is optional; with Premium it passes through RelicPack’s own server, which checks your purchase and keeps no record of the search. On a Mac you can let an AI assistant read or add to your trips; it is off until you turn it on, and what it reads goes to that assistant. This website counts visits with Simple Analytics, which sets no cookies and keeps no personal data. The Privacy page explains all of it.

02How do I export my trips?

Turn on the Markdown mirror to save trips as text files with their attachments in iCloud Drive or a folder you choose. These are exported copies: editing them does not change the app. You can also export a trip as a spreadsheet you can import again, as Markdown, as a printable PDF or as a calendar file; costs as a spreadsheet; documents as a folder; the Inbox as Markdown or a spreadsheet; an itinerary as plain text; or everything at once to a folder. All exports are free.

03Can I recover something I deleted?

Trips and items stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days, including their checklists and attachments. Find it in Settings, or under Go on a Mac. On Mac, you can also undo edits, new items, checklist changes, archiving and deletion.

04Is RelicPack connected to an airline or booking service?

No. RelicPack is an independent app and is not endorsed by airlines, airports, hotels, booking services or Apple. The site uses sample trips and bookings. Flight examples use real services, but schedules may have changed.
